Hahaha... actually Luis Buenaventura does not know everything about crypto. He needs to study deeper about the blockchain protocol programming of Pi Token Network and other cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin is using PoW or we call it Proof of Works which uses computer Rigs and computer and additional fun to maintain the temperature of bitcoin mining or else your bitcoin rigs and computer will explode.
Bitcoin is not user friendly due to high value of price of bitcoin ($20,029 or Php1,124,824) so it can't afford by massive of people and can afford only by whales, and Bitcoin is using huge of Electrical Power of Energy that dispose carbon dioxide in the air that is not good for environment and produce global warming that destroys the Planet Earth.
Pi Token has developed by Principal Developer Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis (Professor and PhD of Blockchain subject in Standford University and he was a former professor of Vitalik Buterin who successful launched Ethereum Token on 15 July 2015) and Pi Token is using Stellar Consensus Protocol or SCP and a user friendly, and everybody can afford it using their phone for mining and uses individual nodes of computer also and we call this Proof of Consensus or PoC and can't affect our environment.
Pi Token uses not PoW but he uses PoC or Proof of Consensus and the protocol programming of Pi is using Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) invented by David Maziera (Professor of Computer Science in Standford University and Chief Scientist of Stellar Development Foundation and Chief Architect of Stellar Consensus Protocol or SCP). Pi is like the same protocol programming of Ripple, Neo, Stellar XML Lumens, Harmony One and Cardano ADA cryptocurrencies.
Pi Token is one of the fastest protocols that produces 3 to 5 seconds per block and 102 times faster than bitcoin which produces 10 mins per block and my prediction it will have a value 10X than Bitcoin in the Future due to user friendly and uses SCP. Please Read all white paper of Pi Token Network Coach Chinkee Tan and let also Buenaventura read it so that you and him will know the program protocol of Pi Network that they are really mining which i opposed to Buenaventura explanation that Pi Mining is only like clock and not really mining.
Buenaventura must research that Pi Token Network has it's owned BlockChain Technology and completed already the Closed or P2P blockchain mainnet and they are on negotiation for open mainnet with other cryptocurrencies (Read white paper https://minepi.com/white-paper).
